Android P Will Have Gesture Controls Similar to iPhone X

Image
While  Android P  is  yet to completely emerge  as the  Android Oreo  successor, it has now been spotted that this new Android version will bring an experience similar to the  iPhone X . The experience, which appears to come in the form of gesture navigation, has been revealed by none other  Google  itself. It could sit alongside support for notch and multi-camera setup that both are aimed to make the next range of Android smartphones closer to the latest iPhone flagship. There are also rumours that Google will bring features such as a  deeper Google Assistant integration ,  native call recording , and an  option for carriers to hide signal strength . Unlike the traditional set of Back, Home, and Recent Apps buttons, Google in an official blog post on Friday  showed  a glimpse of a navigation bar that includes a hollow-styled back button and a pill-shaped home button. The blog post was notably not designed to exhi...

Huawei P20, P20 Pro launch in India confirmed: Price, availability & more

Image
We've seen some of the best smartphones come our way late last year. From  Apple iPhone X  to  Samsung Galaxy S9 , smartphone enthusiasts had a great deal of excitement, but it's far from over. Following the international debut of  Huawei P20 and P20 Pro  flagships last month, the Chinese smartphone maker is all set to bring the new smartphones to India. The date hasn't been finalized, but the company's official Twitter handle teased the imminent launch of the P20 series with a short video clip on Friday. Another major challenge Huawei will face selling its P20 series in India is the lack of a robust offline distribution network. Samsung and Apple have attained dominance in the offline space to sell their premium handsets, leaving little room for Huawei to cut through the clutter. Furthermore, this is the first time Huawei is launching its premium flagships in India, which is seen as a big move for the brand. Specs-wise, the P20 and P20 Pro are nothing...

Xiaomi Black Shark Gaming Handset Announced With 8GB Of RAM: Everything You Need To Know

Image
Black Shark is a new Chinese company which managed to get under the spotlight because of Xiaomi’s investment.  Xiaomi , one of the largest tech companies in China, invested an undisclosed amount of money into Black Shark, or in other words, in Black Shark’s gaming smartphone, which the company just announced in China. Black Shark is also aiming to release some accessories and e-sports smartphones in the future, and we’re guessing that most of their products in the coming months will be focused on the newly-announced handset. Having said that, the Black Shark gaming smartphone is more or less exactly what we’ve expected in terms of the design, as the phone leaked a number of times before it was announced. This device is meant to be a direct competitor to Nubia’s upcoming gaming handset, the  Red Devil , which will be announced on April 19. That being said, let’s see what the Black Shark has to offer, shall we, starting with the phone’s spec sheet. Black Shark Specs The Bl...

Best affordable Android phones you can buy [April 2018]

Image
There are new smartphones hitting the market constantly, but which is the best to pick up when you’re trying to save a buck or two? We’ve seen a lot of big releases in the budget market lately, so let’s take a look at all of the best affordable Android devices you can buy today. NEW FOR APRIL: ZTE Tempo Go On this list, you’ll generally find phones that range from around $100 up to about $500. Of course, sometimes even less expensive phones are needed, but we’ve often avoided listing those because, well, really cheap Android phones are generally pretty terrible. Google is trying to fix that, though, with the  arrival of Android Go , and the ZTE Tempo Go is one of the first phones landing with that version of Google’s OS. The ZTE Tempo Go is a  very  cheap device by all standards. Pricing lands at just $80 for the unlocked model, something that can’t be said about many devices on the market today. With that price, it packs a Snapdragon 210 processor, 1GB of...

Looks Like Nobody Wants to Buy Apple’s HomePod

Image
Surprise, surprise, turns out Apple’s debut foray into the world of voice assistant-enabled speakers isn’t quite living up to the company’s initial expectations. According to a  Bloomberg report , the company has lowered the number of Homepods being manufactured by one of its partners, Inventec Corporation, and is reportedly looking to make a second smart speaker, one a bit less expensive than its current $350 offering. Meanwhile, according to a report from  The China Times , Apple is slashing the number of monthly HomePod orders from 500,000 to 200,00 due to some disappointing sales. Apple retail store workers cited in the Bloomberg story claim to be selling “fewer than 10 HomePods a day.” Apple’s no stranger to lackluster sales when it comes to new products, but the HomePod seems to be fighting a war on multiple fronts, and doing poorly in each one. We’ve reached out to Apple for comment on the HomePod situation. It’s not like they’re just collecting dust, though. Lo...
